Blast Consult is a company whose main objective is the most efficient use of explosives and other “breaking agents” for safe, economic and site specific blasting.

We are experts in rock fragmentation with experience in:

: Mines; Quarries; Civil Engineering; Underwater Excavations; Tunnels; Demolitions; Other specialized applications.

We also work as consultants for companies, security forces and authorities on the safest and most efficient use of explosives, their regulations, control and world tendencies on this field.

Benjamín Cebrian

Meening Engineer degree by the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (Spain) in 2000.

Ms Sc Colorado School of Mines 2002 in Mining Engineering and Mineral Economics. Technical Services Manager - European Subsidiaries - of Union Española de Explosivos (UEE), now MAXAM.

In 2006 he created Blast Consult S.L, an specialized firm in consultancy, accessories, training and R&D. Has performed works on countries over 4 continents.

Susana Vila

Partner founder of Blast Consult. Director of logistics, administration and purchases.

She was employed for 6 years at Unión Española de Explosivos at the divisions of Cartuchería Deportiva and Explosive Civilian.

The Technical Director Zone South of Blast Consult's Spain

    He is a versatile technician, with wide experience in works, quarries and mine.

    As leader of the project of improvement of blowing-ups in Manilva Quarry (2 Mt), it has obtained spectacular savings and improvements of productivity (+ of 450.000 Euros / year) throughout his 2 years integrated the equipment of production of the quarry.

    From August, 2011 it assumed the direction of the Technical Service in mine Aguablanca and it manages an equipment of 3 engineers integrated to producing companies. His nice treatment, great ability of communication and inexhaustible capacity of work are a guarantee of improvement in safety and efficiency of the operations which it joins.

Juan Sordo Portugues

(Mining engineer for the Technical University of Madrid).

    It has been employed at the mine of Endesa-Puertollano in labors of planning mines.

    Recently Aguablanca has joined to the project - Lundin Mining as link between planning I cut term and design of blowing-ups. His labor is fundamental to adapt the aims and restrictions of every blowing-up (control of dilution, prevention of hurts to banks, maximization of the fragmentation, control of vibrations) to a tidy and logical sequence of shot.

    As field engineer, it carries out controls of blowing-up in field, auditing the precortes and load of every drilled hole to assure that the designs correspond with the reality.

    In a monthly way, KPI realizes the follow-up of them (key indicators of performance) of each and every of the blowing-ups in relation with the paces of load t/h, sobreexcavación, levels of floor obtained and consumptions. This labor allows to detect diversions and, especially, it improves in the evolution of the blowing-ups.
